PURELL® products boost consumer confidence

What do a videoconferencing system, a streaming provider and a hand sanitiser manufacturer have in common? Zoom, PURELL® and Netflix have all significantly boosted their customers' confidence during the Coronavirus pandemic, a study shows.

Survey shows how much consumers rely on the PURELL brand

The branding agency MBLM (pronounced "emblem") recently published the results of its Brand Intimacy COVID study, in which it examined which brands managed to strengthen their emotional connections to customers. We could not be more delighted with the result. Right behind the video communications provider Zoom, we take second place in the ranking with our PURELL products. The third place goes to the streaming service Netflix.

With the outbreak of COVID-19, Zoom and Netflix became more important to consumers because many employees starting working from home and needed a good videoconferencing tool to stay in touch with their colleagues, not to mention socialise with their friends. And with the option to out removed, many people settled down in front of a blockbuster or box set or two.

Hand hygiene became an important issue

Meanwhile, PURELL's products increased our customers' feeling of security. With our hand hygiene gel they had a way to fight against the dangerous virus, and  effectively minimise the risk of infection.

As fear of infection escalated in March, the importance of a good hand hygiene routine became an issue. In cases where soap and water were not readily available, hand sanitisers became a necessity and PURELL’s product range, which includes sanitising sprays and wipes, was a perfect fit.

Demand for hand sanitisers at record levels

The demand for PURELL hand sanitisers was so great that the products were temporarily sold out. Bottles in various sizes were hoarded by customers at home, and the demand exceeded anything that had ever been seen before. An impressive fifty-eight percent of users said they used PURELL every day. The certainty that PURELL was effective in maintaining health contributed to a noticeable increase in emotional loyalty to the brand, the survey showed.
