The demand for hand hygiene products remains high all over the world. Some customers buy jugs of third-party hand sanitisers and fill existing PURELL® bottles up with other manufacturers' products. We recommend you avoid doing so for 3 good reasons.
#1 Formula is crucial
The mixing of different products leads to a change in the formula. This might have unpleasant consequences:
- Skin reactions
- Reduced effectiveness
- Reduced shelf life
- A poor user experience due to unpleasant odours or an unpleasant sticky consistency
With the original hand sanitisers from PURELL, however, you know you can expect great products. They contain at least 60 to 80 percent alcohol as recommended by the World Health Organisation. Care substances are also included which help to keep the skin healthy. No drying out, no itching, no scratching, no open spots, no sticking. After using PURELL products, all that remains is the highest level of safety, a neutral smell and a well-groomed feeling on the skin. It all rests on having the right formula.
#2 You put the trust of your customers to the test
Consumers who use a PURELL dispenser trust that they will receive the product they expect. If the expected brand experience does not happen because a competitor's product is contained in a PURELL bottle instead of the original or a mixture of different products, this damages the trust in high-quality hand sanitisers. Customers may avoid using dispenser systems in the future.
If you stick to the original, however, this will also have a positive effect on your business. You demonstrate to your customers, guests and visitors that you value the highest standards of hygiene and are looking after their health. Recently, a study by the branding agency MBLM (pronounced "emblem") proved the high level of trust in our brand.
In its Brand Intimacy COVID study, MBLM examined which brands have managed to retain their customers more than ever before. Directly behind the video communications provider Zoom, we take the second place in the ranking with our products. Such strong confidence in our hygiene solutions strengthens the willingness to regularly disinfect hands and contributes to the health of all of us. This makes it all the more important not to negatively affect trust in this critical phase of the pandemic.
#3 Wrong product information on the bottle
Refilling PURELL bottles with another sanitiser means that the product information on the label, including ingredients and expiry date, is no longer correct. Companies can no longer reliably check whether they are offering their customers a product with a valid expiry date.
Our promise: we do everything in our power to continue to supply our customers reliably with our high-quality products - especially in times of increased demand. We have not only expanded our production capacities, we have also found many creative solutions. For example, we currently offer our hand disinfection gel in new bottles that are easier to procure. At the same time, we have launched new, easy-to-install wall and floor stands for these bottles. You see there is no reason not to trust the original.
Stay healthy!
